It started
with a name.
The name began with a familiar appearance description found on certificates of analysis: a white or off-white lyophilized powder. It was a direct reference to the material itself. As the identity developed, three letters revealed its character: OWL.

Observant.
Deliberate.
Focused.
The owl became a natural expression of the brand. Observant. Deliberate. Focused. Its sharp gaze gave us a guiding idea: Research, in sharp focus.
An identity rooted
in observation.
That idea shaped everything around it. Warm off-white tones recall the pages of scientific records. Engraved artwork draws from natural history and technical illustration. Strong typography brings a clear, contemporary edge.
Together, they give Off-White Labs an identity rooted in observation—with an ambition that extends beyond appearance.
A standard
to grow into.
Our goal is to bring the same attention to the entire research-material experience: how products are presented, how information is organized, and how researchers find the documentation for the batch in front of them.
We’re building for independent researchers and laboratories alike. Clear product information, accessible batch records, and original laboratory reports are central to the experience we want to create.
